New York City

Someone mentioned something about seeing my blog the other day, and quite truthfully, I had forgotten about it. Yikes.

I had the wonderful opportunity to travel to NYC with a group of about 35 people. My fashion instructor, Mary Ann Sanger, organizes trips all over the world for students, coworkers, and friends with another retired instructor, Mickey. Unfortunately Mary Ann was not able to join us because of radiation, but we thought of her often and look forward to another trip with her. There were only a handful of students on this trip, four of us sharing a room. With a few other second year students, but we didn't spend a lot of time with them. It was a great deal because we took a Costco bulk approach to all of our activites. Many "touristy" things we did as a group, but were then left with a lot of free time in which our smaller group spent in Chinatown during the day and times square at night.

We started the day bright and early as we left Spokane an hour late, barely making it to our connection in Minneapolis. Picture 35 people booking it through an airport... Thankfully the airline didn't feel like rerouting 35 crazy tourists, so we made it to La Guardia with only one person missing luggage.

From La Guardia, we hopped on a lovely tour bus and headed straight to the Empire State Bulding. We were all so enthused that we took WAY to many pictures, and didn't realize the effects of large glass windows of tour buses in relation to blurry glared pictures.

At the top is was fun to see the city that at that point was so unfamiliar to all of us. I love the Chrysler Building and was super stoked to be able to get some great shots of that.
